KUALA LUMPUR TWIN TOWER

Kuala Lumpur is the most modern and developed city in the country, with fashionable high-rises and world-class hotels, showy shopping malls, and international cuisine. The well-known twin towers - the worlds tallest are situated in this city. Kuala Lumpur is a grand gateway to an attractive destination. Observer the Patrons Towers which at a height of 1453 feet, towers above the skyline of Kuala Lumpur. The Maya is also located right opposite the Suria KLCC Shopping Center and Patrons Twin Towers while being a short walking distance away to Aquaria KLCC.

KL has quite a vibrant nightlife and the Golden Triangle is the epicenter of most of the partying which goes on in the city. Jalan P. Ramlee, just south of KLCC, is Kuala Lumpur's central clubbing area, while the action also spills onto Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Pinang and Jalan Perak.

The most striking landmark of the city is the dazzling Petronas Twin Towers which has become an iconic landmark signifying the modern architectural magnificence of Malaysia. The towers are known as the world’s tallest twin towers and houses attractions such as the Science Discovery Center, Symphonic Concert Hall and the Suria KLCC Mall. Located on the Bukit Nana Hill is the Kula Lumpur Tower also known as the Menara Kuala Lumpur. At an astounding 421 m above ground level, the towers excel as the tallest concrete tower in the world and the fourth tallest telecommunications tower.

KUALA LUMPUR TOWER

A popular joke in Kuala Lumpur is that the Kuala Lumpur tower is taller than the Petronas Towers, it not true of course, but because KL tower is built on a hill the elevation is such that it looks taller than the Petronas twin towers. The tower was built as a telecommunications tower and stands at a height of 421 m, it is the fourth highest such structure in the world and was built so that it could withstand wind speed of up to 90 mph.

Visitors who opt to walk up the hill towards the building rather than take the free shuttle bus can explore the surrounding Bukit Nanas forest- the oldest gazetted forest reserve in the country. The woodland area serves as the green lung of Kuala Lumpur and a 106 year old Jelutong tree can be seen from the Pedestrian Mall on the tourist floor.

The architecture of the tower clearly demonstrates the Islamic heritage of Malaysia. The main dome of the entrance and the exits of the upper ground floor are built of glass, meant to resemble the surface of a diamond with sparkling facets arranged in a traditional Islamic form.

A revolving restaurant that can seat up to 250 people called Berputar Seri Angkasa is located on the second level and serves delicious local cuisine.
